Deputies

The Saline County Sheriff's Office employs 12 deputy sheriffs - one chief deputy, two captains, three sergeants and 6 deputies. With Sheriff Moore, it makes 13 certified law enforcement officers at the sheriff's office. Deputies carry badges and IDs clearly identifying them as law enforcement officers. If you are ever in doubt that someone who presents themselves as a deputy actually is a deputy, please call the sheriff's office. No deputy will refuse to show their ID and badge if requested.

Deputies handle everything from serving papers and participating in public functions to traffic accidents and crime investigations. Deputies are certified law enforcement professionals meeting the highest standards of training and expertise. Training occurs continously incorporating new techniques and technology. Deputies from Saline County participate in training events all over the United States.

Deputies use high-powered Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors as their patrol vehicles. They cover the entire county and will go anywhere they are needed to assist citizens and to fight crime.
